Arm Swap
Not too long ago I ran into my old friend Timothy, whom I hadn’t seen since the surgery.
It was his first time seeing me with my wife’s arms attached and he hadn’t read anything about it in the papers. Or so he said. We had conducted the first ever successful attempt at a voluntary couples arm-swap (as well as the first ever failed attempt!) and he hadn’t heard anything? Come on, Timothy.
I reached out to shake his hand, but he refused. “I have a cold coming on,” he said. “I can just feel it.”
“I don’t mind,” I told him. “Everyone I know is sick anyways.”
There my new wife-hand dangled and he didn’t even look. Timonthy just smiled and changed the topic. “I used to love wearing sleeveless,” he said, “but who can keep up with this weather? One day it’s scorching hot, the next it’s arctic.“
Now I knew he was fucking with me. Sleeveless? Give me a break. He was dying to see my new wife-arms. He was practically begging.
Years later, I can still remember telling him off in front of the whole store, but not much else about whatever followed. After my wife and I ended things and I was left with her arms, that whole damn period of my life seems absurd.

🎙️ Podcast Ep: Mark Zuckerberg talks to Lex Fridman for 2-hours in this masterclass on self-delusion.(Spotify, YouTube). Lex is an AI researcher at MIT and, of course, a podcaster. Somehow, he got fellow programmer Mark Zuckerberg to sit down with him and asks all the questions you'd want him to, like, "Can you understand why so many people hate you?" This ep reminded of a couple of things about Mark Zuckerberg:
He's really, really smart.
His morality doesn't resemble mine.
He has total control over the vision of FB/Meta, which is increasingly important because his imperfect worldview is shaping the actual world.
He probably doesn't have any real friends, which is worthwhile to think about as he creates the tech enabling our social interactions
😂 TikTok Channel: Therapy Gecko has nothing to do with a gecko giving therapy. Trust me. I love this project because it's such a good example of how presentation is everything. I'll stop there. You just gotta see this one yourself. The TikTok vids are the best place to start. If you like those, you can listen to the podcast, YouTube, or Twitch stream.
What is this?!
