Arm-Swap, Part-II
It had been ages since I last saw Timothy. Of all places, we ran into each other shopping for ivy at the new indoor-plant shop in the nice part of the city. He had lost a bunch of weight, which he couldn’t help from telling just about every person he encountered. I bet the cashier at Key Foods knew just how much he lost. If you ask me, I think he looks too thin and I’m not the only one who thinks so.
I knew he noticed them the moment we bumped into each other. I mean, they were hanging right in front of him.
“These?” I asked.
“These what?” he asked.
“Oh come on, Timothy. You can hardly help yourself. You’re staring right at them.”
“Having your ex-wife’s arms attached to your body wasn’t enough? You had to take her breasts, too?”
“That's grotesque," I said. "And it couldn’t be farther from the truth. She’s still got her’s. Both of them.”
When we had the baby, getting my own implants seemed like a sensible thing to do. We could afford them and newborns can fall asleep on practically anybody with breasts. My wife and I both thought it would save us some sleepless nights. And we were right. For the first few months, anyway.
Of course, Timothy somehow changed the subject back to his weight and my thoughts wandered to our son. He’d be turning thirteen in a little over a month, and all of the sudden his father’s breasts have gone from “cozy" to “embarrassing.” Just like that. Teenagers are impossible, aren't they?

🎥 LUNA loses 100% of its value. TLDR: A beloved cryptocurrency that cost about $100 a month ago has, literally, become worthless. Dead. Done. Worth zero moneys. The disclaimer everybody gave last year before strongly recommending to buy it– "crypto is risky"– came overwhelmingly true and the diehards are shaken. I do not think it's proof that crypto is bullshit and Bitcoin is dead. But, it's a great reminder that cryptocurrency remains useless, NFT communities are meaningless, and this stuff has a long way to go. I'm not a financial advisor, but from what I've heard... wait till Bitcoin hits $18k and BUY BUY BUY!!!!!!!!!
📺 Slow Horses. Okay, I was wrong about Tokyo Vice. I'm not proclaiming anybody will be talking about this show, but I've been glued to it this week so I have to share. It's about the office in the MI5 where all the disgraced agents go to die, and it's a sprawling spy story with good characters and a plot that's easy to follow. And maybe because it was shot after COVID, there are tons of extras and it's super refreshing once you notice it. If any TV execs are reading this-- let's do an American remake written by Richard Price and swap the MI5 for the NYPD. 1-hr, drama, AppleTV+.
