Bezos'ed: The True Story of How Jeff Bezos Murdered My Daughter and Destroyed a Midwestern Farm Community
Foreword by the author
Okay. By now you have already purchased this book and unwrapped the plastic wrapper to see what's inside. I suppose it's as good a time as any to tell you that this book does not include any content relating to Jeff Bezos, a murder, or how a billionaire laid waste to an humble community's hopes and dreams.
Titles are funny in that way, aren't they? We assume they suggest the sort of story contained therein. Publishing laws are funny in that way, too. Although lawyers will strongly advise a writer not to go down this road, there’s little recourse readers can take once they do. It's important that you know this.
What you don't yet know is the thrilling story of Tale Bookman, or how the love between a boy and his horse saved a world on the brink of disaster! That's what this book is. And you can trust me about that. I'm sure you'll agree that if I had titled this book "Horse and Boy" there's no way you'd be reading it at this very moment.
So, here we are at a crossroads. You can return the book, but because you've already removed the plastic wrapper they can only give you store credit. Or, you can just read it. What? You have time to read a tell-all about a billionaire you'll never meet, but you don't have time to read a work of literature from somebody whose lived experience might actually resemble yours? Up to you. Although I would like to remind you that I now have two things: Your credit card information and, as you can imagine, plenty of debt.
🎥 Trailer for new Louis CK movie. Okay, okay, I know. This is like the millionth Louis thing I've shared... but what else am I supposed to do when a disgraced comedian who's been blackballed from polite conversation keeps putting out new work!? It's fascinating! Check out the trailer. It looks kinda meh, but if you're in NYC there'll be a premiere at The Beacon with a Q&A afterwards.
📺 Rick Rubin listens to Avett Brothers. If you know who Rick Rubin is, and you know that he produced this Avett Brothers song, then you should watch this clip. If you don't know who Rick Rubin is, and you don't know that he produced this Avett Brothers song, then you NEED to watch this clip.
