Trump’s Gaza Plan Is Plain Wrong. Period. End of Story.

What Trump has proposed to do in Gaza is awful. Plain and simple. As a Jew, I have always believed that my Jewish values and my liberal values do not contradict one another. In fact, they are one and the same. You CANNOT threaten to displace 2-million people who call Gaza their home. If we are ever going to achieve peace, it’s not going to be by doing to the Palestinians what they’ve threatened to do to us! It will be through mutual understanding and making the difficult choice to live together.

Unless, of course, he could, like, really do it. He can’t really do it, can he?

I’m not saying he should do it. It would be awful. Just that, could Trump really do it? Just, like, how would he do it? I mean, if he really wanted to? I’m just curious. That’s it. I just wanna know how it’s even possible? Are cruise ships involved? I’m not trying to be funny, I just really want to understand the logistics of how you’d move that many people.

Because obviously this is not the America I grew up in– wait. Did you say that he doubled down on it? Like, he’s serious? He really thinks this can happen? No. I don’t believe you. That’s insane. And wrong, obviously. Very wrong. And I just want to hear the details of the plan because it’s so crazy, right? I just, like, need to hear them.

But I could– and would– never support anything that even hints at ethnic cleansing. I mean wouldn’t that make us just as guilty as they are? Even if Jordan and Egypt took them in– albeit temporarily– how could they or anyone else guarantee that these people will ever be let back in to their homes? I know they’ve never considered it their homes, but you know exactly what I mean and to pretend otherwise is willful ignorance.

I’m sorry, did you say that Jordan may be open to it? Jordan? Wow. Okay, I mean if they’re open to it then I suppose we could hear them out. Only if that’s what they want. Because ultimately that’s what this is about. We must retain our morality or we’ve become the monsters they claim us to be. I think.

I mean, if only the DC machine of money and politics and power wasn’t so overwhelming. Gosh, I wish there was something we could do to stop him. Argh! Anything. Anything at all.

Don’t look at me. I voted for Biden.

It paints a vivid picture of the energy behind Trump’s support, which I’m sure will only be taken seriously by Democrats after 2-3 more lost elections and WW4.
